Priority Support
Subscribers to our managed dedicated servers are pleased to have access to 24 hour support by phone, email and instant messenger.
Reboot requests should be emailed to 911@datahive.ca.
Between the hours of 8:30am-4:00pm, Reboot no charge.
Between the hours of 4:00pm-8:30am, $155.00 per reboot.
Per Incident Costs Hardware support is charged at:

This includes installation or replacing of new hardware, servers, hard drives, network cards, RAM, setting up RAID’s, installing servers or other equipment such as switches, hubs, or pre-configured firewalls.
Updates and Patches
Software Patches
As software developers improve upon their products, patches and updates become available. Keeping track of all of them can be a daunting task.
We'll review the patches as they arrive and make sure that compatibility with your unique server configuration is 100%. Once we are confident that the patch is ready for deployment, we'll install it and make any necessary changes to ensure your server is running normally.
Windows Update Deployment
Microsoft's Windows Update service makes it easy to keep your managed Windows server current.
With DataHive’s managed servers, we'll test the latest update for stability and any interference with other applications. This way when the patch is applied to your server we're sure it doesn't negatively impact your uptime.
Kernel Updates
Flaws in the Kernel are the number one means of compromising your server's security. Keeping this key component up to date is an essential part of managing a server that delivers to thousands of users each day.
As with Software Patches, we'll review Kernel updates as they become available and deploy them when we are certain that they will not adversely effect your server's stability.

Your data is only as good as its availability. DataHive guarantees 99.9%
power availability. DataHive's internal network is guaranteed 99.9% availability
of up stream access is subject to our SLA.
Fast Hardware Replacement
Your DataHive Managed Server is warrantied against hardware failure for as long as you subscribe to our service. Should a hardware failure of any sort occur we'll replace the defective part, based on supplier guarantee.
Additional Services
Connectivity
The entire DataHive data centre runs on 100 Mbps Ethernet, connected to the Internet through multiple redundant high speed Internet lines using Extreme Networks routers. We currently rely on both Sprint and Enmax-Envision for Internet connectivity. As we are carrier-neutral, we also offer a number of additional tier-1 Internet backbone carriers such as MCI, Envision, Terrago, Group Telecom.
BGP4 Routing
We use BGP4 (Border Gateway Protocol version 4) on our Routers to provide immediate failover in the event that the connection from one of our providers fails. BGP4 is the standard that allows information sent from the Prominic network to use the best and most efficient route possible. This ensures that data is delivered to you and your customers in the shortest time frame and along the most reliable path. If one of our providers fails, data packets will continue to route from our network over an alternate path with a different provider.
Bandwidth Capacity
We always guarantee plenty of excess Internet capacity so you never have to worry about your bandwidth. We guarantee a maximum average utilization of 70%. This means our metric for Internet line upgrades is to have 30% excess capacity during peak load times, regardless of how many high speed lines we already have. High-speed lines are not useful to customers when they are full - and we address this problem as a core business policy.
24 X 7 Tech Support
All of our products include 24 x 7 technical support. You are welcome to contact us by email, instant messenger or phone. Day or night, seven days a week.
Reliable Facility
DataHive's facility employs a redundant power system, fire suppression and 24 x 7 video monitoring. Access to the facility is protected by man-trap doors and biometrics, as well as digitally encrypted keys for rack access.
Reliable Network
DataHive currently connects to the Internet through two providers with 100Mbit connections each. This means that if one connection were to have a widespread failure, the other would pick up the slack, with no loss of connectivity... automatically, transparently.
Rate Increase Protection
When you sign up with DataHive, we guarantee that your base monthly rate will not increase for the duration of your contract. Power and bandwidth use is subject to your requirements. |
